At the end of last year, I announced to the Board of Trustees that my position at Kio Kio School would finish tomorrow, Friday 5th July.

My role as principal began in the middle of 2017, 7 years ago, and I leave with mixed emotions. A principal's role is varied and at times, challenging. However, I will cherish the memories of my time spent here.

I have worked with and met some great people along the way. This includes staff, community, fellow principals, staff from other schools, and tradespeople. Thank you for your support and friendship.

To the students, I will miss you all for many reasons. We as a staff care about you and do the best we possibly can for you.

I look forward to catching up with you in the future. I wish you all the very best.

There will be a formal welcome for our New Principal, Pip Were, on Monday 22nd July beginning at 9.30am in the Rec Centre.
Community and parents welcome, followed by morning tea.

DENTAL UNIT
Due to unforeseen circumstances the dental unit was unable to be at school from the 24th June as previously advertised. The dental nurse has advised that she is working the 1st week of the holidays and if you would like your child/children seen that week, please phone 021 356384 to book an appointment by Friday 5th July. The dental unit will be situated at Te Awamutu Intermediate.

STUDENTS ENTERING & LEAVING SCHOOL
Please make sure that your child/ren are dropped off and collected from the bus shelter each day.
We are enforcing safety rules at school pick-up and drop-off. Children are NOT to open our school gates. Parents are required to drop off inside the gate and come into the school grounds to collect their children. This is a safety measure. Our carpark is very busy at the end of the day and we need to do everything we can to keep everyone safe.

BUS BOOK REMINDER
Please ensure that the school office is informed early if your child won't be on the school bus in the afternoon. We also need to be contacted if your child/ren are getting off at another stop. You can do this by phoning the school office on 07 8731816 or emailing admin@kiokio.school.nz

There is still an abundance of lost property.  Please ensure that your child's name or initials are placed on their clothes, hats, and footwear, so we can return them immediately.  Please feel free to call at the school and look through the rack. Any uncollected items at the end of the term will go to a local charity.

BREAKFAST CLUB VOLUNTEER NEEDED
We are on the lookout for a PARENT VOLUNTEEER to run the TUESDAY morning. If you are able to help please contact the school office. Our Breakfast Club will run on Monday - Thursday each week beginning at 8.30am. All students are welcome to receive a bowl of milk and some weetbix before settling into the days work.

A Mobile Tennis system was purchased with funds from the Otorohanga District Councils Community Grant fund for the sum of $3,750.00, which was then topped up by the Supporters Committee.

We certainly appreciated the hard mahi you put into this show and how you brought everyone together to make this a memorable production.
