SCHOOL NEWSLETTER
Thank you to those parents who have given feedback to our school office regarding our newsletter now available online only. The comments were: "It's easily accessible." "The format on the mobile phone is easy to read." "Being online opens it up to a wider audience."
However, some parents still ask questions about what's happening at school. I encourage all parents to access our newsletter via our school, their emails, or our school Facebook page for important information. Teachers also use their class Seesaw page for updates and communicating with families.
EASTER BREAK
Our school will be closed for instruction tomorrow, Good Friday (29th March), and on Easter Monday (1st April) and Tuesday (2nd April) the following week. Students will return to school on Wednesday (3rd April).
STUDENT UPDATE
I am pleased to report that our student from Rimu class who was injured in a car accident on the way to camp is progressing well in hospital. He will still be there for a while, and we will look forward to his return to school.
CLASS CAMPS
Today was the last camp for our senior school classes with Totara and Kahikatea returning home from Waitawheta Camp near Waihi. I was pleased to be able to assist with kayaking yesterday at Anzac Bay, Bowentown. As this was my last camp, I can reflect on some wonderful memories of organising and attending camps at numerous venues over my time at Kio Kio School.
Thank you to our staff for your dedication to organising these camps and to parents who have transported students and assisted in some way. Camps would not happen without this support.
TEACHER INTERVIEWS
Interviews with parents and teachers regarding their child/children's learning will take place in week one of term two. This
is an important time to discuss their progress and ask questions if you have any. The sessions run for 15 minutes, so please look out for an email next week with instructions as to how you book a timeslot.
